Successful appearance at the European Coatings Show

Inventing efficiency and sustainability for you

Sustainability and lightweight construction are steadily growing demands in the automotive industry. Whether it’s coating mixed materials, greater efficiency in the coating process or finishes based on biomass: Bayer MaterialScience has the solutions. Under the theme “Inventing for You,” the company presented two milestones in automotive coating at the European Coatings Show 2015.

A win at the Innovation Slam, two world premieres, five new product brands, ten product presentations, over 100 coatings and adhesives experts and more than 1000 meetings with customers: That’s the final tally for the Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties (CAS) Business Unit.

At the world’s largest trade show, the business unit communicated its commitment to producing targeted inventions for today and future market demands. The experts invited visitors for dialogue and presented numerous new developments and brands at its 330 m² stand. “We need to understand today what our customers will need from us tomorrow,” said Daniel Meyer, Head of the Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties Business Unit and member of the Executive Committee of Bayer MaterialScience. “That’s why we strive to gain a deeper understanding of trends at all stages of the process chains. By doing so, we can invent exactly those products and technologies that help customers to position themselves and promote profitable growth. This is at the very heart of our position ‘Inventing for you.’”

CAS showcased Desmodur® N eco and Desmodur® blulogiq, two aliphatic hardeners designed to reduce the automotive industry’s ecological footprint. They additionally presented innovations such as Desmodur® quix, Impranil® eco and Pasquick technology at six topic areas: Automotive, Sports, Leisure & Fashion, Construction & Corrosion Protection, Living & Furniture, Packaging, General Industrial & Electro/Electronics and Inspiring Innovations.

Dr. Berta Vega Sánchez and Kai Verkerk were an additional attraction at the event: They literally went into the ring at the Innovation Slam to show their three opponents what real innovations are. Vega Sánchez prevailed with Desmodur® eco N and took home the victory – to the Bayer MaterialScience stand.
