Powdered chlorinated polymers from Covestro are produced from polyisoprene and polybutadiene in varying molecular weights. This yields chlorinated rubber (CR) coatings with different viscosities. Chlorinated rubber is preferred when heavy-duty corrosion and antifouling protection are required.
Our Pergut® chlorinated rubber is supplied as a white powder and has a density of approximately 1.6 g/cm3. The molecular weight – and consequently viscosity – of individual grades varies.
Chlorinated rubber used in coating technologies have many benefits, including:
Our proprietary manufacturing process helps Pergut® chlorinated rubber products have extremely low carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) content – < 0.005 % by weight (< 50 ppm) – and comply with global regulatory requirements.
